Gannet Seascapes

A collection of drawings using drawing ink and mixed media, inspired by research from Glasgow University into why teenage gannets find particular colonies attractive, with a focus on colonies in Scotland, Wales and Germany. The artworks were produced as part of a 6-month artist residency funded by the AA2A programme in collaboration with De Montfort University.

I was fascinated with Dr. Jana WE Jeglinski’s research into the movements of immature gannets across colonies and I really wanted to illustrate and explain scientific research in a creative way. View more artworks on the AA2A website here.
