Dog Walk Drawings
A selection of bold pastel drawings inspired by my favourite places to walk my border terrier, Millie.
Inspired by walks in and around Leicestershire, this collection of drawings showcases local nature reserves and parks using a vibrant colour palette of wax pastels, Indian ink and gouache paint on archival paper.
Walks in nature have always been an important part of my art practice, as a way to connect with nature and learn birdsong. However, before having Millie, I didn’t realise how important daily walking was to my own wellbeing and how much it can help with reducing anxiety, problem solving and feeling calmer.
The drawings are inspired by my own photographs of these special places that have been documented since early 2022. They serve as a reminder to enjoy the outdoors and find the perfect environment to clear your mind.
